Terms of Service

1. Who these terms are with

Job Watcher is operated by Honghao Zhang. In these terms, "we" and "us" mean that operator. "You" means the person using the service.

2. Accepting these terms

By creating an account or using Job Watcher you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service. You must be at least 16 years old, and you must be entitled to work in the places you apply for work.

3. What the service does

Job Watcher reads the CV and documents you upload, searches public job boards, ranks vacancies against your profile, drafts tailored CVs and cover letters, and — through our browser extension — helps you fill in application forms.

4. What it does not promise

Job Watcher helps you search for roles, draft application documents, and fill in forms. It does not guarantee interviews, offers, replies, or any particular outcome, and it cannot control how an employer responds or whether they respond at all. Job matching and document drafting are automated and imperfect: relevant roles may be missed, and irrelevant ones may be suggested.

5. Your account

You sign in with Google. Keep access to that account secure — anyone who can use it can use your Job Watcher account and read the documents in it. One account is for one person; do not share it. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has access.

6. Your content stays yours

Your CV, your letters, your notes and everything else you put into Job Watcher remain yours. You grant us only the permission we need to run the service for you: to store your content, process it, send it to the providers listed in our privacy policy, and generate documents from it. That permission is limited to operating the service and ends when your content is erased. We claim no ownership of your content and we do not use it to train AI models.

7. Your responsibilities

• Everything you tell us about yourself must be true. You are responsible for the accuracy of your CV and of anything submitted in your name.
• You must have the right to upload what you upload, including any document that mentions other people.
• You must review every generated document before it is sent to an employer.
• You must comply with the terms of the job boards and employer sites you apply through.

8. The agent does not apply for you

The apply assistant fills in form fields and attaches your documents. It will not press the final submit button — it refuses to click controls that look like submission controls, by design. You make the submission, and the application that reaches the employer is yours.

9. AI output: check it before it goes out

Documents, match explanations and form suggestions are produced by AI models. They can be wrong. They can state something about your experience that is inaccurate, or invent a detail that was never in your CV. We build checks against this, but those checks are not a substitute for your own review. Reviewing the output is your responsibility, and once you submit an application you are responsible for what it says.

10. Acceptable use

You must not use Job Watcher to:

• Submit false information, or impersonate another person.
• Apply on behalf of someone else without their authority.
• Break the law, or infringe anyone's rights.
• Send bulk or automated applications beyond ordinary personal job seeking.
• Reverse engineer the service, circumvent its rate limits or security, or use it to build a competing product.
• Upload malware, or content you have no right to upload.

11. Availability

Job Watcher is early-access software offered to validate the product idea. It may be unavailable, features may change or be withdrawn, and data handling may change as the service develops. We offer no service level agreement and no uptime commitment. We may suspend or discontinue the service, and we will give reasonable notice where we can.

12. Fees

Job Watcher is currently free to use. If we introduce paid plans we will publish the pricing and the terms before they apply to you, and we will not charge you without your agreement. You may stop using the service at any time, and there is no lock-in.

13. Third-party sites and services

Job boards, employer career pages and application portals are operated by other people. We do not control them, we are not responsible for their content or their handling of your data, and their own terms apply when you use them.

14. Our intellectual property

The Job Watcher software, interface, extension and brand belong to us. These terms give you a personal, non-transferable right to use the service and nothing more.

15. Ending the agreement

You can stop using Job Watcher at any time and ask us to erase your data as described in the privacy policy. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, or where we are required to by law. If we close your account we will tell you why, unless the law prevents us.

16. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be excluded under German law, including your non-waivable rights as a consumer.

Subject to that, and because the service is provided free and in an early-access state, we are not liable for lost job opportunities, lost earnings, lost or corrupted data, or indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of Job Watcher. The service is provided as it is, without warranties beyond those the law requires.

17. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed, and material changes will be posted here before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the updated terms.

18. Governing law

These terms are governed by German law. German courts have jurisdiction over any dispute. If you are a consumer resident in the EU, mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country of residence also apply.
